The Safety, Health and Wellbeing of Aquila’s staff sits at the heart of the business.  Aquila has embedded a Safety comes first culture where all staff are encouraged to think, act and deliver Safety in everything they do.  At Aquila, everyone is responsible for their own safety and the safety of those around them; the tools are in place to raise safety issues.

Following the contract award in 2014, Aquila implemented a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System to provide a framework for managing HSE risks across the business.


To demonstrate the commitment in managing health and safety to the highest possible standard; the HSE Management System was certified in 2016 to OHSAS 18001, the internationally recognised health and safety standard.

Aquila carries out regular health surveillance for staff who complete high risk activities to ensure that the control measures are adequate and a positive health and safety culture is maintained throughout the business.

Those with health and safety responsibilities in Aquila are supported by a dedicated HSE team who provide expert advice, training, and support to put our health and safety policies into practice.

Aquila is committed to ensuring our staff have the appropriate tools, training, information, and support to carry out their jobs safely and without risk to themselves or others.
